To many people Shanghai is just another
big city and financial district in China, however there are more than
what we know about, it is also the most dense shopping places in China,
it has the most famous Nanjing Road, a street full of shops, malls and
hotels. Many shopping malls scatter around Pudong and Puxi areas, cater
for different standards walks of live of people, including tourists
like us. The local brands and goods in Shanghai is best known of its
oldest brand, quality, and wide variety. China Shanghai shopping indeed
is what most of the expat favor activities.
Famous Shopping Spots
1. Nanjing Road
The longest shopping streets in China
begin at The Bund until stopping at thousand years JinAn Temple, with
total length of 5.5km. It is the first shopping street right after
Shanghai is open to foreigners, together with the business district
zone at The Bund. It is also a tourist spot as especially at night, the
lights on the buildings along the street is a must see view, many
tourist flock here for photo shooting and follow with shopping. Very
easy access by subway.
2. Huahai Road
It is known as the "Chinese Champs-Elysees"
as compare to France, since it has a lot of top branded designer shops
outlets here. It has a lot of big department store are around here like
Time Squares, Parkson, Isetan, and others located on this Huahai Road
also. Easy access by subway.

Yuyuan
It is the place where you can get all
authentic local products in the 50 over stores with over one thousand
two hundred different type of products from North and South China. They
are some special shops selling very specialized arts and products like
some ancient stone crafting, wooden crafting, and etc. Also if you
would to bring back some small litter nice souvenirs here is the best
place to buy for them.
4. Zhidi Guang Chang at Nanjing
East Road
Since in 2006, XiangYang market is shut
down because of its fame of selling "fake" or "copied" branded cloths,
bags, shoes, etc. Now most of the sellers had transfer their base to
this Zhidi Mall, it is an underground shopping street link to the
subway station exit at Pudong area. You can a lot of "fake" good
quality goods here.

Qi Pu Road Wholesale Cloth Market
This is the cloth wholesale district in
Shanghai, there 4 to 5 big malls, inside are full of small little shops
selling all sort of cloths, pants, jeans, shocks, etc from all over
China, some even imported from Korea and Japan. You have to try your
luck to find good ones. Also please take superb precaution here as the
safety here is pretty messy, where lot of pick pocket around.
6. Cashmere Products at Fengyang Lu and
LiuLing Market
Wholesale Cashmere products, need to ask
around when you arrive there or get a taxi driver to send you there.
Since a lot of this shops are gather into a building, no longer selling
at shop lots along the street.
7. Tong Tai Road Antique Market
Here is the one stop for antique goods
trading and selling area. But a lot of fake antique goods are selling
to tourist here, most of the time tourist paid more that the product
worth to be. Need to take precaution.
8. Computers shopping at Xu Jia Hui
Many computers shop towers located aroudn
Xu Jia Hui, there are hundreds of computer and electronics appliances
shop in here. You can get the latest and coolest gadget here.
