In a small little capital of Taiwan, Taipei has many interesting place for tourist to visit, local foods that are too many to mention each with very special taste. You can have a big modernized city in Taipei, you too can have a very natural vacation up in Yangminshan or further north up to Yeliu National Ecology park. Tourist Attractions In Taipei

Taipei 101

Taipei 101 gets its name from total floors in this building. It is situated at Taipei City Council place. The building architecture is so unique as you can see multiple square boxes stacking up to the top. Inside there are shopping malls, branded boutiques, restaurants, offices, tourist observation deck. The observation deck is located at 89 floor, you can take the world fastest elevator to reach there within 37 seconds. You can have a 360 view on Taipei city, also you can get up to the another higher external observation deck at 91 floor. Also you can see the internal architecture design which is so unique that they put a steel ball at the top of the building to withstand the earthquake vibration.

Longshan Temple

It is one of famous temple in Taipei, it is a must visit site for many foreign visitors. The design of this temple in fact is non like any ordinary temple, it follow the Chinese Shihe garden design where there 3 main section in a square plane, each section has a main hall with activities ground and the surrounding sites are multiple rooms. The architecture design of this temple is another great heritage where the pillars, roof top, doors, interception points did not use single nail, screw or metal, all based on wooden materials. Another differences is Longshan temple accommodate all three different Chinese religion school of thoughts like Confucius, Taoism and Buddhism, total of about 100 different god statues are placed here. National Palace Museum

National Palace Museum is a four storey building which first 3 floors are for exhibition, the 3rd floor is for tea and rest. It is one of the most famous museum around the world which it has the most Chinese antiques collection, which covers from Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing, all four dynasty across five thousand years of Chinese history. Total of 655 thousands of antiques is kept here. In different season, there are different exhibition themes, please do check out before visiting there. Anyhow it is a worth to visit place in Taipei.

National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

The unique design of white walls with blue roof top and 70 meter height on the building makes it stand out in Taipei city. It is the memorial hall for the 1st Taiwan president Chiang Kai-shek, the ground is used to be the head quarter of army and use to keep the gold bar which transfer from China during the second world war.

Taipei Hot-Spring

Taiwan in fact had been colonial by Japan for about 50 years, one of the main in heritage from Japanese is enjoying hot-spring bath. As Taiwan also located in the volcano ring, it has many hot spring sources, in Taipei the famous one in northern region is Xingbeitou hot spring areas. The spring water here the pH level is between 3-4, yellowish and white transparent in color, temperature around 50-90 degree Celsius. There are about 44 hot spring resorts in here, each of them are so unique and some even is categorized as protected heritage buildings. Xingbeitou is like a small hot-spring town, other than hot-spring bath, there are couple of interesting sight seeing spots like the natural hot-spring lake, a fully eco friendly library, Beitou hot spring museum, and Taiwan culture exhibition hall.

Yehliu Geopark

Many people come to Yehliu is because of its uniqueness of natural beauty and the most famous 2 meters height "The Queen's Head" which is a symbolic icon for Yehliu as well as Taiwan. In Yehlliu, surface of the land is formed with many hoodoo stones that has many different shapes and formation that many people ties it to "Ginger Rocks", "Sea Candles", "Bee Hive", "Fairy Shoe" and so do the "Queen's Head". The whole land area that extend out to the sea is about 1700 meters which is linking back to Datun Mountain. You can also find out a lot of sea creatures and sea plants during the low tide. There is a Geological museum here which is worth a visit, free documentary movie showcasing how Yehliu is formed. There is also a Yehliu Ocean Park just next to this Geopark, you see many sea animals shows and have a tour into ocean lives.

Tanshui Old Street and Fisherman Waft

Tanshui is a old city up north from Taipei, it is used to be a very busy sea port. Here there is a hundred years old Tanshui Old Street that you can wander around to see many authentic souvenirs and foods. Tanshui also famous of its seafood, 2 places you can have seafood here, one is along the beach coast line since they are a lot of restaurants there, another place is take short 10-15minutes board ride to opposite small island. The is iconic representation of Tanshui is the Lover's Bridge at the fisherman wharf.

National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall

This is another must visit site where it is a hall to commemorating the father of Taiwan Dr. Sun Yat-sen of his 100th birthday anniversary. Special things to notice here are the bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen with the height of 8.9 meters, and 16.7 tone in weight; check out the army that will performing the exchange duty ceremony every 1 hour in front of the statue. It is also the official place for President of Taiwan to welcoming foreign VIPs.

Taipei Zoo at Muza

The National Taipei Zoo is at Muza area. The zoo is break down into multiple region, it has Africa region, north pole region, reptiles region, Cola bear park, Asia rain forest, butterfly farm, Taiwan local region, and recently added panda part which now become the most popular place for kids to go.

Night Markets

There are more than 20 big and small night markets in Taipei itself. The night market culture is very unique that can only find is some Asia countries, and Taiwan is one of it. Things to do in night markets are eating out the local delicacy and authentic hawker foods, unique appetizers and dessert. The most famous one will be Shiling night market, which is one of the most famous night market for foreigners.

From Airport to Taipei City there are couple of transportation you can take:

1. Taxi cost about NT$ 1200

2. Airport coach cost about ranging NT$125-NT$145 to various of satellite cities in Taipei

Inter and Intra cities travels you can take MRT which is very cheap and convenient, cost about NT$20 to NT$50, total of 6 lines across whole Taipei. Public bus is not advisable to take is due to almost close to zero percent of bus drivers do not speak English.

For long distance travel, there is a very convenient transportation which is the Taiwan high speed rail connecting Taipei to Tainan and Zhouying with very reasonable pricing ranging NT$260 to NT$2440.
