Hillsboro Travel Sight Seeing Places 1. Portlandia It is the symbol of the Hillsboro and the 2nd largest man-made bronze statue in the country, after only to the Statue of Liberty. Address: 1120 SW Fifth Ave, Portland 2. The Japanese Garden & The Portland International Rose Test Garden
It is considered the finest example of a
Japanese garden in North America. It encompasses 5 and a half acres and
five separate garden styles. Be sure to catch a great view of Mt. Hood
behind the pavilion. Also don't miss The Portland International Rose Test
Garden just opposite Japanese Garden. 3. Portland Classical Chinese Garden
This special Chinese garden takes up an
entire city block and is the largest of its type outside of China. It is
an authentically built Ming Dynasty style garden with covered walkways,
bridges, pavilions and colonnades.
4. Oregon Zoo
It has the largest breeding herd of elephants in captivity and is perhaps best known for its elephants. Exhibits include Africa, Cascade Crest, Steller Cove, and Amazon Flooded Forest. Evergreen Aviation Museum This is the home to Howard Hughes¡¯ ¡°Spruce Goose.¡± The massive wooden plane rests in the company of many other smaller planes. Address: 3685 NE Three Mile Lane, McMinnville, Oregon 6. Multnomah Falls & Historic Columbia River Highway It is located twenty minutes east of Troutdale. The gorge holds some of the region¡¯s most scenic vistas and leads to hundreds of wilderness areas and recreation destinations, such as Bonneville Dam and Cascade locks. One site to stop and see along the way is the Vista House at Crown Point. A great photo view of the gorge and the Vista House is located at the Portland Women¡¯s Forum State Scenic Viewpoint. Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the US. 7. Mt. Hood It is actually a dormant volcano. The mountain is surrounded by an immense national forest, making it the perfect area for snow sports, hiking and other recreational activities. At 11,239 fee, Mt. Hood stands watch over the Columbia River Gorge.
8. The Oregon Coast It extends from the mouth of the Columbia River in the north to California¡¯s redwood country in the south. Enjoy ocean views, gorgeous sunsets, and historic lighthouses from more than 80 state parks dotting the coast.
Hillsboro Shopping Mall & Outlet1. Washington Mall This is a large mall that has a wide variety of stores - gift, department stores, shoe, clothing stores. Highly recommended. Address: 9585 SW Washington Square Rd, Tigard, Oregon. 2. Streets of Tanabourne This mall is the closest (about 1-3 miles) to Holiday Inn Express and has some nice stores such as the GAP, REI, Meier & Frank. It also has some restaurants that are nice: PF Chang¡¯s, Romano¡¯s Macaroni Grill

A very nice upscale shopping mall. It is not
enclosed like most malls. Some very nice restaurants. 4. Pioneer Place
This mall is in downtown Portland and you
could take the Max to it. One great thing about downtown Portland is that
there is no charge to use the lite rail once you are in a certain area.
The TriMet site has a map of the free area. 5. Lloyd Center
This is also a mall in Portland. Of the two,
I would choose Pioneer Place to go to. It is nearer to the downtown sites
and a nicer area. 6. Nob Hill Area
This is an eclectic area with a lot of
boutiques and one of a kind shops. A fun and funky area! While in this
area, if you like books visit Powell¡¯s Book Store, 1005 W Burnside,
Portland, OR 97209 USA. This is one of the largest bookstores in the US. 7. Portland Saturday Market Arts and Crafts vendors display their wares on Saturday & Sunday. Over a hundred of vendors. Address: Waterfront Park near SW Ankeny and Naito Parkway. Portland, Oregon 97209. 8. Woodburn Outlets A large outlet mall about 45 minutes south on I-5. If you have time to visit only one, this one is recommended. Address: 1001 N. Arney Rd, Woodburn, Oregon 97071. 9. Columbia Gorge Outlets
A smaller mall off I-84, exit 17 as you are
heading to the Gorge. Worth a stop if you are on the way to sight-seeing
in the Gorge. 10. Lincoln City Outlets On the coast, but it is a large Outlet center and worth the stop if in the area. Address: 1500 SE E. Devils Lake Rd, Lincoln City, Oregon 97367. 11.
