Shinjuku is famous for its happening nightlife, but there are still some really good foods around here, some are the 1st original shop before they have the other hundreds of outlets throughout Japan. Food and Travel in Shinjuku

1. O-moi-da-shu Yo-ko-Cho

At this vertical street at the Shinjuku Station West Exit, it is the happy hour place for working class people, this street has almost 80 tiny stores line up here most are selling "yaki" foods, like yaki-tori and etc, all sort of beers, Japanese Sake and other western hard liquor. Every night around 8pm till mid-night you will find the whole place is packed! One of the famous store is "Hisago" which operated for nearly 60 years.

Access Info: At Shinjuku Station East exit, walk street towards the tunnel area and you will the street is just at the side.

2. Kita Zawa Club

This Japan No. 1 revolving sushi shop. It has been in business for 100 years, also it run the business until 5.00am in the morning, so it is a good place to have supper too. There are so many variety of fresh sushi with pricing cater for all walk of life people. You can try out some 100 yen sushi to few thousand yen Maguro sasashi set.

3. Nakamura Ya

Japan first curry rice shop, operate since 1901. It has a 6 floor building which selling all sort of curry related staff. If you like very authentic Indian curry, you can have it in level 2. At the ground floor its most famous "Cream Bread" always attract a long queue of people waiting to buy the "Cream Bread" which freshly out from oven between 1600-1800.

4. Mo-Mo-Paradise

A 90 minutes All You Can Eat shabu shabu restaurant which famous of its beef shabu shabu. A beef plus port shabu shabu 120 minutes set cost around 3,600 yen. Pretty reasonable buffet in Shinjuku area.

Access Info: At Kabuki 1st street main entrance walk street about 3 minutes, you will see the COMA Mall, the restaurant is at the 8th floor in this mall.

5. Ramen Stalls by Roadside

Nowadays it is very hard to find street hawker stalls in Tokyo city, but with some local folks help, you still can find couple of places that has street hawker stall at night. There a street every night after 10.00pm you see couple of Ramen stalls set up here. You can find this at under the Shinjuku New South Bridge very near to Takashimaya.

6. Nihon Ryo Li  Ichimi

The famous Roasted Tuna Fish Head which the size is bigger than a man head. With just 1,980 yen you can have both your experience and feast pleasure experience with this special dish.
