Badaling Great Wall of China location is at about 60Km north from Beijing town, in the YangQing district. It is the most remarkable Great Wall build in Ming Dynasty (year 1505). It was awarded the UNESCO Of World Heritage in 1987, in 1995-2000, roughly 300 world wide country leaders visited Badaling Great Wall, and it is now grated as 5 A travel site in China.

Badaling Great Wall basically opens up an area of 3741 meter length to tourist visit, it can divided into 2 sites, the north region with 2565 meters and south region with 1176 meters, total of 16 combat and watch towers. There are many must see sites at here, below are some key sites.

Things To Do Or See:

  • Wall of Great Wall which design with 6-9 meters height, 6.5-7.5 meters width, rounder top width of 4.5-5.8 meters, the top floor space is able to hold either 5 horses in parallel or 10 soldiers matching parallel. The structure of Badaling Great Wall is constructed by using marble stone pillars, big stones, soils, stone tiles with weights ranging from 1.5 tones to 1.7 tones each.

  • Watch Towers are interesting to see as they have different designs some have double stories, some have many windows, some have underground storage room and some are like watch towers. The steepest tower is between the southern 3rd and 4th tower with 70 degree. Northern 5th tower is a two stories tower which has the most gate arch to support 2nd level, total about 30 gate arch. The largest tower is at northern 6th tower with area of 12.6 meters by 8.5 meters, about 100 meters square. The tallest tower in Badaling Great Wall is at northern 8th tower with the height of 888 meters, and it is the best place to see the whole view of Badaling.

  • Great Wall Museum - Opens 1994 for public, total of 9 exhibition hall adds up to 3000 meter square, exhibit content includes history, political, war fare, economy and culture surrounding great wall.

1. In Beijing City board city bus 919 from Front Gate, normal bus cost RMB8 per person, air-conditional bus cost RMB12 per person, return bus is at Great Wall entrance near The Bear Park.

Mutianyu Great Wall

Mutianyu Great Wall of China location is at about 73km north from Beijing town, in the HuaiRou district. Things To Do and See:

  • Architecture landscape. Closely packed enemy towers, narrow and dangerous passes, bulid up with battlements supporting both side. Basically can split into north and south region. In north side there is a famous spot looks like the edge of an ox horn at above sea level about 1000 meters, also there are sections like flying eagle and design like arrow located at the highest and steepest mountain peak cover by the clouds. The Great Wall of Mutianyu landscape just like a flying dragon laying around the peaks of mountains.
  • Cable car experience - Mutianyu Great Wall has the most advance, longest cable car with 723 meter and 640 meter height, 58 cabin with fully automated door, can transfer 1800 people per hour in one way.
  • Self Control Speed Roller Coaster - The maximum speed of this coaster can reach to 30KM/hour, total length of 1580 meters. Very exciting experience.
